Abstract :
The considerations in this report Spring-Mass Chain with Path Control are part of the example collection which can be found in http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/multiphysics/Examples/. The aim is to investigate different formulations, i.e., regularized formulations or also index reduced formulations, of the model equations in combination with different numerical solvers with respect to its applicability, efficiency, accuracy, and robustness.
