Abstract :
We discuss different weak formulations for systems of
linear differential-algebraic equations with variable coefficients.
These weak formulations include systems
with factored or properly stated leading term, strangeness-free system,
a distributional formulation and a weak formulation in terms of Sobolev spaces.
