If that does not work out you may want to check out the following hotels. They are relatively close to TU Berlin, not too expensive and just recently had vacant rooms during our conference. Some hotels offer special rates for bussiness guests. You may also have a chance on a better price if you mention that you will be attending a conference at TU Berlin and that we recommended them.
Direction from airport Tegel to Motel One Berlin-Ku’Damm:
Take the airport shuttle bus X9, that starts directly at the airport and takes you within 20 Minutes to Zoologischer Garten. From there it’s about 400 metres to Motel One, a 4-minutes-walk. A taxi-ride will take about 15 minutes and costs about 20,- €.
Direction from airport Schönefeld to Motel One Berlin-Ku’Damm:
This is across the city, so a taxi is expensive unless you can share the costs. At S-Bahnhof Flughafen Schönefeld take a regional train (RE7, destination Dessau) or S-Bahn (Line 9, destination Pankow), change at Ostkreuz to any train in direction of Zoologischer Garten, where you leave the train. The route takes about an hour.
Direction from the main station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof) to Motel One Berlin-Ku’Damm:
Get on one of two S-Bahn-lines, S 5 in direction Rathaus Spandau, or S 7 in direction Wannsee. Get off at Zoologischer Garten. A taxi-ride will take about 10 minutes and costs about 15,- €.
Direction from Motel One Berlin-Ku’Damm to the conference venue, TU Berlin, main building, Straße des 17. Juni 135, 10623 Berlin:
From Zoologischer Garten you can take the bus M45 that stops under the railway-bridge. Get off at Ernst-Reuter-Platz (3 stops, 3 minutes), from there it is about 200 metres to the main building of TU Berlin. Another option is to take the subway (U2) in direction Ruhleben from Zoologischer Garten. It is only one stop to Ernst-Reuter-Platz.
