Overview
The workshop is a part of the ESF projects
"European Network In Geometry, Mathematical Physics and Applications" (ENIGMA) and
"Methods of Integrable Systems, Geometry, Applied Mathematics " (MISGAM),
and takes place at the
University Center Obergurgl
in Austria at December 13-20 in 2008.
The main goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers working in various fields
of mathematics and theoretical physics to explore geometrical foundations of integrability and integrable structures in geometry.
A very broad spectrum of specialists (including groups which usually do not meet at a conference) is planned to attend this .
Topics will include, but are not limited to:
- integrable systems, with an emphasis on the geometrical structures behind integrability
- relationship between integrable systems, topology and singularity theory
- integrable differential geometry
- quantum geometric theories
- polyhedral surfaces
- Riemann surfaces, Teichmüller theory and integrability
This conference is a successor of the workshop "Geometry and Integrability" in Berlin 2005.

Location
The University
Center Obergurgl is located in Tirol at about 2000m above sea level and
70km southwestern of Innsbruck, close to the Italian border. Obergurgl itself
is a typical ski resort and belongs to the commune Sölden.
There will be a collective transportation to Obergurgl from Innsbruck central station. For detailed information and alternative ways to reach Obergurgl please have a look at the
printout notes concerning travel.
