Boy Surface

This is a video of the Boy surface. It is a special immersion of the real projective plane in Euclidean 3-space, which has a 3-fold rotational symmetry and minimizes the Willmore functional (elastic energy). A model of this surface was installed in front of the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach.
