At first, sorry for my late reply. I inserted the normal vector generation for the faces. Below are the results. It seems the the normal vectors of neighbour faces have the opposite directions. But the flat shading of JOGL and the flat- and smooth shading of the softviewer handle it in an other (in ...

Even with the current version (2009-03-13), the problem occurs. Can you reproduce it with Windows?

I can reproduce it even with jre1.6.0_02. When I start ViewerApp from the start page of www.jreality.de, the viewer starts with JOGL. I load a 3DS file (not a scene), switch to perspective = false (by clicking in navigator: avatar, cameraNode, camera) and click the title of the viewer window, to giv...

I hope that jReality can fix this for smooth shading too, because with flatshading it can already deal with the winding problem correctly.

Thanks, it has really been fixed. But now I see a similar behavior in the JOGL viewer. Here are 4 screenshots, which show what I mean. Flat shading is done correctly for all geometries and both viewers. Flatshading with JOGL: http://www.p2u.de/Joe1/Bilder/toydog-flatshading-jogl.gif Flatshading with...

setPerspective(false) doesn't work with softviewer

The non perspective camera mode works only with the JOGL renderer, not with the softviewer. You can reproduce it like this: * Start the ViewerApp (WebStart) * Activate the JOGL viewer by hitting F1 * Load a geometry file (I loaded a 3DS file) * Open nodes in Navigator: Avatar, cameraNode, camera and...

Softviewers normal vector behavior

Hi, the JOGL renderer seems always to calculate normal vectors for both sides of a face (even if I rotate the face, both sides have a correct lightning). The softviewer too, but not under all circumstances. If ... appearance.setAttribute(CommonAttributes.POLYGON_SHADER + "." + CommonAttributes.SMOOT...

Flat vs. smooth shading

Hi, I would like to apply a nice shading to my surfaces and so I activated SMOOTH_SHADING. But it works not with my "IndexedFaceSetFactory", only with the "IndexedFaceSet" of Primitives.sphere(). Why doesn't work SMOOTH_SHADING with my own geometry? The appended source code shows the problem. Many t...

Thanks for your answer and sorry for my late replay. I found a very old version of jreality.jar in my classpath. After removing it, a left click into the canvas isn't necessary anymore.

DraggingTool: Keylistener / other mouse button combination

Hi, I am using the DraggingTool class. I found out that it can also be used for dragging along the z axis by pressing <ctrl> and center mouse button while moving the mouse. But: The <ctrl> key works only if I do a left click to the canvas. Otherwise the corresponding keylistener seems not to be list...

Hups again, I found it myself. It's directly in the scene root. Sorry.

Colors are lost in U3D file

Hi, I have displayed a scene graph (a colored cube from the tutorials) in the ViewerApp and I exported it into a U3D file. After putting the U3D container into a PDF file, the colors are gone and the model is blue. I inserted the U3D file with pdfLaTeX an iText, to be sure, that not the PDF insertio...

Hups, I found one tool which isn't removed by this way. A "mouse wheel zoom tool" remains. Is it attached to another location in the scene graph? Can it also be removed? I want to redefine the mouse key and wheel behavior.
