viewerapp background

Post by timh » Thu 21. Sep 2006, 11:10

I think the ViewerApp should not have the shaded background by default (at least not as long as one can not easyly change it). Besides the fact that the software viewer does not support them at the moment (with could go as a bug so its not a good argument) the colors might very well conflict with whatever one loads displays.
So I vote for a plain white background.

Yes, this should be easy to change - there should be a menu to easily switch different backgrounds.

Well the default material color for i. e. obj files is white - so I think a white background isn't more conflict-safe than what we have now. I don't care about the default too much, but I think a plain white background looks boring...

I added an action to the appearance menu which allows to switch the background color.
The default is still the shaded background.

Now ViewerApp has a method setBackgroundColor(Color[]) which can be used to overwrite the default shaded background.
If the color array contains the same 4 colors this method and the SwitchBackgroundColor action (now in the Edit menu) trim the array down to length one.
