Can jReality import u3d files ?

Hi,
reading from the documentation it says that jReality is able to open .u3d files (Universal 3D) but when I try to load such content it doesn't see my files with that extension.
Is it because the documentation is wrong or must I install something to be able to perform that ?

Cheers !

Where did you find it in the documentation? I never used it, but I just checked the readers and there is nothing like a U3DReader. Either I haven't looked at the right place or the documentation is wrong. I don't know how simple/hard/possible it is to implement a reader for u3d.

It's mentioned here :

http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/ ... icle_id=29

"jReality includes readers for many 3D file formats (i.e. U3D, OBJ, 3DS, STL, VRML 1.0, Mathematica Graphics 3D, JVX) and export of geometries i. e. for 3D printers. "

OK it's note really the documentation... Sorry.

Thx, let's wait for an answer of sechel. He implemented the U3D. Maybe he can help with the reader. Or I simply wrote/updated the features-page wrong ;)

There is no U3D import yet. And actually I see no point in having one. Are there programs out there that only save off U3D files?
