viewerapp jogl sading

I found a strange bahaviour in the viewerapp:
load a geometry set in the root appearance smooth shading false. switch to software rendering and back to jogl rendering and the shading becomes something like constant.
Any ideas?

Is it the webstart version from the jReality main page or current cvs code? I think the jogl backend in the currently linked webstart version is buggy.

Maybe updating the webstart(s) would help?

Its from the cvs. it migth have to do with cached appearance attributes or cached normals. If one switches back and forth a bit between viewers and smooth shading one can get the corect lighting again.

I guess Charles should fix that. And Im still thinking about a new jogl backend.
