3D text in PDF

Post by argo2185 » Tue 6. Jul 2010, 14:58

Hello,

i tried to export this example (http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/ ... ay_3D_text) into PDF. But the pdf file contains only the cube without the labels. Does the u3d/pdf-writer support 3D-Text?
Is the another way to export the labels?

I got the same results as you, I forwarded your problems to Stefan who knows much more about U3D.

The U3D/PDF exporter does not read the labels from the scene graph yet. In principle
it is no problem to implement this as we did for tubes and spheres.
So maybe this post should go to the feature request section of the forum.

ok, but i don't know how to move the post to the other section :(
perhaps an admin could do this.

But i forgot to ask something else. in this example (http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/ ... ine_shader) there are rings made with lines and tubes. but when i try to export them to pdf, all rings are tubes. is it not possible to export also lines? In my project i have to export lines to pdf and with tubes it is ok, but i think lines have a better performance.

Points and lines are not supported by the adobe reader. They are in the file
but not displayed. See http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/ ... 45&start=0
