Title
Algebraic degrees of 3-dimensional polytopes
Abstract
Results of Koebe (1936), Schramm (1992), and Springborn (2005) yield realizations of three-dimensional polytopes with edges tangent to the unit sphere. In this talk we introduce the study of algebraic degrees of such realizations. We will show how these notions provide algebraic complexity measures reflecting the combinatorial stucture of the polytopes. This initiates the research on constrained realization spaces. Joint work with Mara Belotti and Michael Joswig.
